The Northwest Academy Therapeutic Day Schools provide Educational and Therapeutic services to students with Special Education eligibilities at two campuses in Streamwood and one campus in Rockford. Our students are boys and girls who range in age from 10 to 21 (12 to 21 at Cornerstone Academy) and are in grades 5 through 12 (7 through 12 at Cornerstone Academy). Students working on Transitional or Self-Sufficiency Plans may attend beyond age 18 and 12th Grade. Northwest Academy is a full year program providing comprehensive Extended School Year (ESY) programming during the summer months. All student services are provided by Special Education Teachers (LBS1), Counselors, Social Workers, and Certified Para-Professionals licensed by the Illinois State Board of Education and by the Illinois Department of Professional Regulation. Medical services are available as needed and are provided by a Registered Nurse in consultation with student families and medical providers. Our students enjoy the full school experience of education, social activity, sports, and guidance. The two Streamwood Campuses and Rockford Campus of The Northwest Academy Therapeutic Day Schools are approved by the Illinois State Board of Education.
